Field day was a blast today! The students had fun participating in all of the games and races. They showed great sportsmanship towards one another.
I hope everyone had a wonderful spring break. I know I did. We only have 6 weeks left of the school year. Where did the year go? Spring Fever is in the air, but we still have a lot of learning going on. So please help me with stressing the importance of coming to school on time and trying your best everyday. Let's continue to make this a terrific school year!

We are going to be making Green-haired Creatures when we come back from Spring Break. Each student will need one sock. Colored or patterned socks look best for this project. If you have any CLEAN

Don't forget... Chick-fil-A biscuits will be on sale on Friday, March 27th. All proceeds will go to St. Jude's Childrens Hospital. So come to school and by a biscuit for you and your child!
If you are reading my blog, your child will get a reward. If your child comes to school and tells me "Mrs. Honeycutt's kindergarten class is the best!" They will get a cheer sticker.
In case you hear about a leprechaun today, it is true. Our class got ransacked by a leprechaun. He tore the room apart, left footprints on the table and gold dust wherever he walked. He also left the students his shadow (an elf cookie) and a piece of his gold (a Rolo). It was a blast. Let us know if he comes to your house too.

If you want a class picture, we have extras. They are $11 each. The order and money is due on Monday, March 16th.
Our field trip to Cagle's Dairy Farm is on Friday, March 20th. Please make sure your child wears jeans and sneakers because we will be going on a hayride. Also please watch the weather the night before to see if it will be warm, cool, or rainy and dress your child appropriately.
Please remember to send in a snack with your child everyday. We are almost out of class snacks. If you would like to donate a box of crackers or cereal for the class we would appreciate it.

The Boosterthon Fundraiser was a huge success! We had so much fun at the Fun Run. A big thank you goes out to our fans that came and supported the Honeycutt’s Heroes! Another huge thank you to everyone that got pledges for our school! We are going be able to purchase some great technology items with the money we raised!
The Teacher Appreciation Luncheon was so nice. Thanks to Kellie Nuckolls, Mrs. Frigerio and I were able to have a few extra minutes to enjoy the luncheon while she did an activity with our students. We felt much appreciated when we opened our wonderful blankets that the class gave us. Thank you!
Curriculum updates:
Our math focus for the next few weeks is measurement of time (Calendar, days, months and seasons) and building number combinations (addition). In science, we will be learning about living and non-living and then move into animals. In language arts, we will be working on retelling stories, blending basic CVC (consonant vowel consonant) words, and continue with narrative writing.

You can also come to our pep rally in the Nicholson gymnasium on February 10th. The pep rally starts at 1:15, but parents may come at 12:45.
February 19th is the Boosterthon Fun Run for all grades from 9:00-11:30 on the track.
Wow! I cannot believe that we have passed the 100th day of school already! Where does the time go? Congratulations to all of our students who got into the 100 and 100+ club. For those students that did not make it this time, they will have the opportunity to get in on every spirit day.
Curriculum updates:
In math, we will be working on number words, graphing, and money. In language arts, we are continuing to focus on a new letter and introduce new sight words every week. In writing, our focus is on narrative writing. In Social Studies and Science, we are learning about Groundhog’s Day, Dental Health, and President’s Day.
