I am sure that you have heard all about our new student teacher, Mrs. Zohbe. She is fitting right into our class. She is slowly taking over some of the subject areas. I will still be in the classroom helping out and making sure that all of the curriculum is covered.
Our 100th day of school is quickly approaching! It will be Friday, January 27th. We will be having a school wide celebration. When the students learn the 100 items required (all upper case and lower case letters, numbers 1-20, 20 sight words and the color words) they will enter the 100's club. To be in the 100+ club, they will need to master the 100 club items plus 10 more sight words, all letter sounds, know the names and values of the coins and be able to write their first and last name correctly.
We had a great time on the field trip to the Tells Museum. We saw a great show about day and night in the Planetarium and learned about gravity and motion.
In the next couple of weeks, I will be testing the students to determine what reading level on which they are reading and comprehending. I am so excited to see how far they have come!
