Free Stuff!

Student star Click here Free Stuff to receive lots of free things to help your child over the summer!  Studies show that children lose about 80% of what they learned over the school year unless it is reinforced quickly and continuously over the summer.  Don't let this happen to your child...just a little work each day will benefit your child tremendously!  Thank you to Chris Clark who shared this information with me!

Famous American Heroes

Roosevelt We have been learning a lot about many of the important leaders in American history...people like Franklin D. Roosevelt, Frederick Douglass, and Susan B. Anthony.  Ask your child to name one important goal each leader accomplished (we learned about 9 of them)...you'll be amazed how much your kids know!

CRCT

Books & globe The CRCT seems to be going very well so far!  We have already tested on the reading, mathematics, language arts and science sections.  The social studies section will be administered on Monday, April 27.  Thank you for helping your child get to bed on time and eat a healthy breakfast.

Gems about Georgia

Georgia2 We are so excited about learning more about our great state of Georgia!  After spring break we will extend our study of Georgia habitats to include the state symbols of our wonderful area, including the state bird and state marine mammal for instance.  Did you also know that the Right Whale breeds off the coast of Georgia?  How many of you have seen a Brown Thrasher in your yard?  We look forward to learning more about the common things you will see around our state.

March Reading Calendar

Bookworm Oops!  I made a mistake on the March Reading Calendar for the Book It! Program...please change the goal for the minutes to read to 440, not 660.  Of course, if your child read more than the goal that is great!  Please turn these calendars in by Friday, April 3.
