The trip was great! The weather tried to dampen our spirits, but we didn't let it. The kids learned a lot and were very well behaved! I am quite proud of all of them!
Thanks again for your support with this trip!
As the last few days wind down, I would like to take this opportunity to say "thanks" for all your support throughout the year. Parents play a very important part in their child's education. I am very grateful for all that you are able to do on the "homefront." Be safe, keep modeling good behaviors for your child (Because you know they are watching everything you do!), and have a wonderful summer!
Sincerely, Mr. Caswell
I know the word has been spreading around, and it is true that I will not be teaching at Nicholson next year. With the rise in gas prices and the distance I travel every day, it just made more "financial" sense for me to find a school closer to home (I live in Dallas, GA). I will start as a fifth grade teacher at Due West Elementary next August. Nicholson has been my home now for 8 years. I will miss the students, families, and friends I have made throughout my time here as a Nicholson Star!
Please note that each item in the blog is updated at least once every two weeks if updates are necessary. The dates for the entries do not change because I go in and "edit" the original submissions. Sorry if this has caused any confusion and/or concern about your child's education under my guidance.
We have begun studying Constructive and Destructive forces. This study includes information pertaining to changes of the earth's surface due to various factors such as weathering, erosion, deposition, earthquakes, and volcanoes. We will study this unit until the end of the school year. A TEST IS SCHEDULED FOR NEXT TUESDAY (5-20-08).
We are now studying how to read texts to gain information. KEEP READING AT LEAST 20 MINUTES A NIGHT! In grammar we are studying the uses of the comma, more specifically to set off appositives and names of people being addressed or spoken to in writing. We are also covering the other comma rules that the students should already be familiar with. There will be a test on Monday, May 19.
