Writers Workshop- The reports are looking great! They started their rough drafts. We discussed engaging beginnings and using notes to create paragraphs. This week we will focus on writer's craft and sense of closure. The final copies of these reports will be displayed in the hallway.
Readers Workshop- The focus is on main idea and details. We will switch from fiction to nonfiction texts. We will also review nonfiction text features.
Spelling- Sort 16 this week. The pattern is adding the suffix -ing. Test on Friday. Don't forget about spelling-city for practice.
English- Kinds of sentences is on the agenda. We are almost through with all four types. Imperative sentences are this week. There will be a quiz on Friday over all four types.
Math- We are still working on fractions using models to represent adding and subtracting. On Wednesday we will begin comparing fractions to decimals.
Science- We will study Georgia habitats. The first region will be the mountains. My favorite!
